Hiding kitties at Petco...

Hi, everyone!  Just a reminder... sometimes when we think a cage at Petco is empty... SURPRISE!  There is a hiding kitty!  It may be hiding under that blanket (wait... did I see it move?  Is that you Dash?  Delaney?).  Or perhaps in that covered cat pan (Jag?  Why are you hanging out in your pan?)  Or, a petite young girl hiding behind her cat pan, in the top cage where it is hard to see her there (Buffy?  I didn't know you were there!!).  I almost left Petco myself without taking care of poor little Buffy... luckily I was texting Michelle and she said something about Buffy.  I ran back into the store and there she was!  Please take the extra second to double check.

As always, thank you for everything you do for our furry feline friends!

Saturday 8-20-11 Adoption Clinic at Petco

Michelle and Brian did an awesome job (as usual - thanks for putting the pressue on Wayne and I for next weekend, you guys lol).  Delaney went out on Foster to Adopt.  Woohoo!  Heard from Dash's new parents... doing fine, love him already!  Hooray!  Some interest in Buffy, with a meeting scheduled for next weekend.  Yeah!  Thanks to Erin for staying with her fosters... it really helps!  No one knows your fosters better than you do!

Gentle reminder... please remember that sweeping up in front of the cages is part of our daily cage cleaning duties.  Please don't sweep litter onto the floor in front of the cages.  The cleaning crew doesn't visit Petco until Friday evening, which means litter may lay on the floor for many days before it gets cleaned up.  Also, this doesn't help our kitties get adopted... people may get put off by thinking about how messy they can be (those kittens don't help much, do they?  Messy messy messy!).  The broom/dustpan can usually be found in the "Cricket Room" (I know... yuck!), or is sometimes in the back receiving area.  I am sure someone will help you find it.

As always, thank you for EVERYTHING you do for our furry friends!

Help for kitties who have lost their home...

Heads up... need some help for two adult females... kitties, of course!  Their owner recently lost her job, her home and was forced to sell everything she owns and move in with her daughter back east.  This poor 60 year old woman had only two suitcases to show for her entire life!  She could only take one of her three kitties with her and is absolutely devestated.  Her son is hiding them in his tiny studio apartment (not allowed to have pets).  Can anyone foster while we find a home for them?  They are healthy beautiful girls, current on shots and spayed.  Their "grandma" will obtain their medical records and is willing to make a donation for felv testing and microchipping if we put them through CatADo.

Saturday Adoption Clinic at Petco

Good luck Michelle and Brian who are running the adoption clinic today!  Dash went out yesterday on Foster To Adopt!  Hurrah for Dash!  He is going to a lovely home with a young couple (almost newlyweds - getting married on October 15... ah, young love!) with another adult kitty.  Woohoo!  Prediction:  he won't be back.  They are already madly in love with him!

Delaney

Karen has been exchanging quite a few emails with a prospective adoptor regarding Delaney or Claudia... let's keep our fingers crossed.

There is also a couple who wants to come up from Tucson to see Fia and Francis but they are unable to make it to this Saturday's adoption clinic. Their adoption application looks great.

Still need help for Skittles...

Skittles is an amazing kitty who belongs to a little boy with autism named Anthony.  Skittles was recently shot and had to have her leg amputated in order to save her life.  The Central Mesa Animla Hospital was gracious enough to perform the surgery and is allowing payment in installments.  For those of you who are not familiar with her story, check it out on the CatADo website home page... http://www.catado.org/.  The donation link on the website has expired, please use the link below if you are able to help.  Thank you!
